Exhibit at the Ageing in Australia EXPO 2017
The Expo is a unique Victorian event connecting older people and their families to aged care providers and support services. It provides an opportunity for people to find out about the range of support services available to them and their families as they age, and ask questions of aged care services relating to their care and wellbeing. Language services will be available to facilitate communication between exhibitors and members of the public who speak languages other than English.
Places are limited and filling fast!

The Focus on Diversity: Delivering Services in a culturally inclusive way workshop is the result of a partnership between the Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing and the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency and will be run in each State over the coming months.

Cultural Diversity Week
Cultural Diversity Week is Victoria’s largest multicultural celebration, featuring a week-long program of festivals and events in metropolitan and regional areas.
Proudly presented by the Victorian Multicultural Commission, with support from the Victorian Government, the week invites all Victorians to embrace each other’s cultural heritage and join in the celebrations.
Now in its 15th year, Cultural Diversity Week is held annually in March to coincide with the United Nations Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and Harmony on March 21.

A Taste of Harmony
A Taste of Harmony is an annual event that provides Australian workplaces with the opportunity to celebrate the diversity in their workforce.
A Taste of Harmony will take place in the week of 20–31 March, 2017.
Founded by the Scanlon Foundation, workplaces are asked to register and then organise a lunch or afternoon/morning tea and encourage workers to bring a dish that represents their cultural background or from a culture they might not have tried before.

Ageing in a Foreign Land International Conference
Flinders University is holding its 4th International Conference ‘Ageing in a Foreign Land’. The Conference will be held 21 – 22 June 2017 in Adelaide, South Australia.
This unique conference with a multicultural perspective journeys into the deep cultural, spiritual, and linguistic areas of ageing amongst CALD communities. It represents a stimulating and colourful cross disciplinary and cross generational insight into our noiseless, but not silent, ethnic communities and neighbourhoods.

Free interpreting services for aged care services
Did you know that the Australian Government Department of Social Services provides funded interpreter services to all approved aged care services? All services have been supplied with a TIS National Client Code which must be quoted when accessing TIS National. If you don’t have one already contact the TIS National Client Liaison and Promotions Team on 1300 655 820 or the DSS Ageing and Diversity Section on (02) 6289 8903.
